Discover Astronomy @ Masjid BJ

The Programme.

For a change, this August holiday, get your children ready for an astronomical experience. We will provide your children with an appreaciation and understanding of how Astronomy, Math and Science relate to Islam.

For instance, we will teach them how to find the direction of Kiblat just by looking at the stars. We will teach them how to identify Venus and Jupiter among the stars and identigy zodiac signs in the sky. They will also learn about the planets, galaxies, nebulae and many more celestial objects.

How by using Maths and Science concepts, your children will be able to construct a Sundial and tell time without a watch. The Sundial is a working Sundial which will be their very own, to use and keep.

We will teach your children about famous Muslim Astronomers of the past, their successes and contributions to the world. Your children will also learn to identify Venus and Jupiter amidst the stars and identify zodiac signs in the night sky, right from the own backyard at Bukit Jelutong, weather permits.
